Teacher (Guruji) : Sri Vasudevacharya

Sri Vasudevacharya Ph.D, our resident scholar and senior disciple of Swami Dayananda Saraswati, has been running regular Gita & Upanishad classes in Sydney & Melbourne besides undertaking regular lecture tours to Asia & India. He presents simply and clearly the essential vision of the Veda through the Bhagavad Gita with its relevance to everyday life.

Srimad Bhagavatam

Srimad Bhagavatam is the most popular among all the Puranas. It is one of the greatest works in Hinduism and is considered the Fifth Veda. Composed approximately in the 10th Century CE, it takes the form of a dialogue between the sage Suka and king Parikshit who has only seven days to live. The twelve books of the Bhagavatam tell about the various incarnations of the Lord, culminating in the story of Lord Krishna in the tenth book and his teachings in the eleventh book

Under the SVT Vidyalaya Program, Sri Vasudevacharya will teach the main episodes from the first eight books of the Bhagavata Purana in a short course of nine classes beginning on Sunday, 6th April. Each class will take up the most significant story from each of the first eight books. Acharya will refer to the notable verses in each episode and, most importantly, he will explain the blend of Jnana and Bhakti that makes the Bhagavatam so important and engaging. This is a unique course which will be enjoyable as well as spiritually uplifting.

The classes are FREE. Donations will be accepted to cover costs. All classes will be held at the Reg Byrne Community Centre, corner of Fyall Avenue and Darcy Road, Wentworthville. All interested person are welcome to attend.
