SVT Front Desk – Manager/Volunteer, including Photographers/Videographers for assisting during Ceremonies

SVT attracts devotees from all sections of Hindu society from all over Sydney, Wollongong, Canberra, rest of Australia & overseas. Several distinguished Swamijis, artists and leaders visit our temple as part of their trip to Australia. It is recognised as a major tourist attraction. During regular weekends and holidays the temple attracts upto 2000-4000 people each day.

It is highly rewarding work to manage the Front Desk to serve the devotees with their pooja, archana or other needs. We have a well established front desk that is also computerised. We invite volunteers (husband/wife team) to manage the Front Desk, mostly during weekends & holidays. If you are interested, please contact Director.ECA@svtsydney.org or email: Assistantsecretary@svtsydney.org

Canteen – Manager/Volunteer

SVT Canteen operates on weekends and holidays from 10am to 4pm. Our cooks make famous masaala dosas, iddlies, vadas, pulav rice, poories and other dishes served with yummy accompaniments such as fresh coconut chutneys, sambar etc. The canteen also serves bhujia mixture (south indian style), laddoos, mysore pak & other sweets. Of course, tea, coffee and soft drinks are available. The canteen is very popular because it offers the best dosas, prepared ‘hot..hot’ in front of you and other snacks at a very reasonable price, in an outdoor environment, where you can enjoy the meal with family and friends. So…it is fun to be a canteen manager, meeting people and cooking with Chef!

The volunteer-manager is expected to manage the canteen front office, while cooks manage the back office!! Simply, you’ll have to collect monies from customers, serve foods and generally present happy and friendly service! Of course, at the end of the shift, simply handover the collection monies to front desk, take a receipt & handover to Canteen Manager. Choose any Saturday, Sunday or Holiday 10am-4pm. Join with Friends or Family to make a team..it is fun!

Of course, your efforts are greatly appreciated  !!

Community Kitchen, Annadhanam & Special Prasadams For Festivals

SVT festivities attract community groups that create wonderful culinary delights to serve thousands of devotees as Annadhanam or Prasadam or special events. On major events like Ganesh Visarjan, their efficient kitchen under tent creates hundreds of hot dosas, poories & other Indian delicacies. Why don’t you join them or bring together your own group to help cook at the next event at SVT?
