Rama is my Mother and Rama (Ramachandra) is my Father,Rama is my Lord and Rama (Ramachandra) is my Friend, Rama is my All in All, O the Compassionate Rama (Ramachandra) is my All in All, I do not know any other; I do not know any other; Indeed I do not know any other.

Lord Sri Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, descended on earth for the destruction of Ravana. In Hindu tradition, Lord Rama is considered the “Marayada Purushottaman”, the perfect man who exemplifies the height of perfection, a human being can achieve. He is considered to be one of the most important avatars of Lord Vishnu, the preserver and upholder of Dharma. He is the embodiment of virtuousness and the steadfast adherence to dharma, or correct action.

Lord SRI RAMA was born on “Navami Tithi” during Shukla Paksha (Ninth day) of Chaitra month. In his Glory the day is celebrated as “Sri Rama Navami”. While the festival is named after Rama, it typically includes reverence for Goddess Mother Sita Devi, Sri Lakshmana and Lord Anjaneya / Hanuman, given their importance in Ramayana.

This year “Sri Rama Navami” is being celebrated at SVT on Thursday the 30th March 23.
