Abhishekam (Hydration Pooja) is the process of bathing the deity. “Annam” means rice and Anna Abhishekam denotes bathing the deity with cooked rice. This divine ritual is performed on the Full Moon day in the Tamil month of Aippasi (mid-Oct to mid-Nov). This particular ceremony is performed on Lord Shiva in the form of Shiva Lingam. Performing this ritual once a year can help you get rid of all the problems in your life. This ceremony is also known as Shiva Abhishekam or Maha Anna Abhishekam.At SVT, Abhishekam for Sri Chandramouliswarar with Cooked Rice and Vegetables, Alankaram, Maha Deeparadhanai. The rice and vegetables  used for Abhishekam will be offered as “Prasadam” for devotees.Programme for the day commences at 4.30pm, AnnaAbhishekam for Lord Sri Chandramouliswarar (Shiva) followed by Shodashopachara Maha Deeparadhanai, Archanas & Sri Lalitha Sahasranama Archana for Goddess Sri Tripurasundari.
