SRI RAMA NAVAMI

Thursday, the 2nd April 2020

Sri Rama Rama Ramaeti Ramae Rame Manoramae,
Sahasranama Tattulyam Rama Nama Varananae“

This sloka is recited at the end of the “Vishnu Sahasranamam”, and is said to have been told to Goddess Parvati by Lord Shiva. He professed that,: chanting the name of Sri Rama just three times is equivalent to reciting the entire list of the Lord’s thousand names. So, chanting this one sloka is akin to reciting the entire Vishnu Sahasranamam.

There are a lot of benefits if you chant the name of Lord Rama. Chanting the name of Rama gives a deep sense of relaxation to the human mind. Rama Namam is one of the most powerful and positive vibes in this cosmos.

Lord SRI RAMA was born on “Navami Tithi” during Shukla Paksha (Ninth day) of Chaitra month. In his Glory the day is celebrated as “Sri Rama Navami”. While the festival is named after Rama, it typically includes reverence for Goddess Mother Sita Devi, Sri Lakshmana and Lord Anjaneya / Hanuman, given their importance in Ramayana.

This year “Sri Rama Navami” is being celebrated at SVT on Thursday the 2nd April 2020.
