After preaching various tricks to Goddess Parvathi, Paramasiva preached the essence of all the tricks. This is called Sri Pura Upasana or Sri Chakra Upasana or Sri Vidya Upasana.

Sri Navavarana Puja is a combination of all the pooja aspects of the deities of the entourage inside the Sri Chakra and the central deity, Sri LalithamBhigai.

The importance of this pooja is found in Sri Suktam, Sri Devi Suktam, Devi Upanishad, Bahruvrusopanishad, Bhavanopanishad, and in the Legends of The Great Purana (Sri Lalita Sahasranamam), Durga sapta sathi, Ramayana, Mahabharata etc.

Pujas are performed to the deities in nava (nine) avaranas (rows), archana and tarpanam. A Deeparadhanai is performed after the pooja is completed for each Aavaranam.

Pujas and Tarpanam are not performed in any form except Navavarana pooja. Worshipping the pooja with flowers and milk dipped in ginger pieces (Poojayami Tharpayami Namah: This pooja is considered to be very special.

Another special feature is that the pooja begins with guru praise and ends with guru vandanam.

The Pooja will commence at 02.00pm on Sunday, the 30th January.
