Maha Kumbabhishekam work continues with Balalayam at Sri Vishnu Temple!

 

As part of the Maha Kumbabhishekam, it is customary to undertake repairs, renovation and revamping of the Temple in all possible ways to provide enhanced and more pleasant and satisfying user experience to our devotees. This process has been going on for the last two years. I am pleased to advise you that the next step in this process, Balalayam process at Sri Vishnu Temple is underway.

What is Balalayam?

Balalayam is a small temporary structure installed to accommodate the deities while the renovation work is progress inside the shrines. The divine presence of the deities is transferred from the Moolavar Moorthies to the holy water in the Kalasams.  The Kalasams are in place atop the Balalayam and the routine pujas are performed to the Kalasams and Utsava Moorthies while the renovation work is in progress.

As part of the renovation during the period of Balalayam in Sri Vishnu Temple, following enhancements are planned for, in addition to the routine repairs:

  • Provision of high-quality protective, easy-maintenance and strong Wall and Floor Covering;
  • Provision of Hot water facility inside the shrines;
  • Provision of improved Water Drains at various places;
  • Painting inside the shrines

At the completion of above works, We will be performing the concluding ceremones of Balalayam at all the Shrines in Sri Vishnu Temple under the guidance of Sri. Sridharan Bhattar, our Chief Priest and our Sthapathy Sri. Nagarajan Sivaramakrishnan. The Schedule for the event is detailed below:

Balalayam Schedule:  

Commencement with Poorvangam on Monday, the 28th November, 2022 at 4.00pm.

Tuesday the 29th November:

09.00am: Sathyagarshanam

11.00am: 1st Kaala Yaaga Poojas.

04.00pm: 2nd Kaala Yaaga Poojas and Sayanathivarasam.

Wednesday the 30th

09.00am: 3rd Kaala Yaaga Pooja

11.00am: Maha Samprokshanam followed by Saathumurai.

Below are the estimated costs for all the repairs, renovation and upgrade work in Sri Vishnu Temple.

Sri Venkateswarar Sannidhi renovation: $60,001

Sri Mahalakshmi Sannidhi renovation: $40,001

Sri Andal Sannidhi renovation: $40,001

Sri Ramar Sannidhi renovation – $35,001

Sri Anjaneyar Sannidhi renovation: $9,001

Sri Narasimhar Sannidhi renovation: $9,001
Sri Viswaksenar Sannidhi renovation: $9,001

Sri Visnu Temple internal renovation: $50,001

Sri Visnu Temple Main Gopuram: $75,001

Donations are solicited from our patrons and well-wishers for all these repairs, renovation and enhancements. Please be advised that any amount of donation, small or big will be gratefully accepted and appreciated.

Further to these renovation work listed, as part of the Maha Kumbabhishekam, a number of Scupltures, Yazhies, Peedams, Steps etc., will also installed at various places inside and atop the walls.These materials have been shipped and are expected to arrive in a couple of weeks’ time to enable us commence installation works.
